Pirate Airways / Switch 105FM

On sunday the 12th of October 2003 Switch was shut down by local authorities, the equipment was seized and the DJ that happened to be on air at the time was arrested.

I had only played on Switch for a couple of months and was still finding my feet, still finding my audience, I was the only progressive DJ on a station that was full of Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, Garage with a tiny slice of House and Trance - the station was allowing me to broadcast my sound to an area of the uk that was not used to hearing this sort of music. What was I / we doing that was illegal?

Yes, we were taking up a slice of the FM frequency that may be used by other legal traffic, the enthesis being on the word 'may'. We were providing the local community with a service, educating and entertaining people with music that wouldn't get played on local radio.

Switch hasn't been back on the air in the same way since, which is a shame - the station now broadcast day time friendly pop music and is trying to get a FM licence.

Internet Radio / Klik on the Radio

While promoting Klik club nights we decided to get a bit of extra exposure for the Klik brand by hosting an online radio show. SS Radio UK we kind enough to give us 2 hours every fortnight to play out our favourite music and to host guest mixes by some of our favourite DJs. The show ran from October 2006 to August 2007.

Internet Radio / Groove...

Groove... was the first Internet radio show that I had, hosted by the lovely people at RiseFM.com, it was a 2 hour monthly show and it ran from February 2005 to October 2005 only coming to an end because of the brief demise of Rise!

Internet Radio / Guest Mixes
